Sun, Sand, and Stunning Silhouettes: The Perfect Wedding Dresses for your Beach Wedding

Being in Perth, I get a lot (and I mean A LOT) of brides coming into the boutique getting married on/near the beach and you guessed it...getting married in Bali. There are two types of beach brides.. One is wanting to lean into the environment and climate and the other one does not care and is happy to still have their dream gown and stuff practicality. For all of my type 1 Beach Brides - This is for you. Beach Brides number 2 - You go girl, you don't need me!

Things to remember when searching for your perfect dress:

- Practicality. I love seeing big ball dresses out on the sand BUT practicality wise, it may not be the         choice for you.

- Fabric. What your dress is made of is super important for a beach wedding. Silks, chiffon, organza and    even tulle are safe options whereas satins and Mikado's will be very heavy and hard to move               around.

- Silhouettes. The beach scene is fairly versatile and don't feel you HAVE to have a empire waist flowy       gown but just consider how comfortable you will be.

- Travelling. If you are lucky enough to be going overseas or even a decent distance away, think about       how you will be packing your gown. A bigger gown or even a beaded one can weigh a few kilos!

- When you are dress shopping it is super important to have a look at your dress in natural light

- Texture. Consider things like subtle sparkles, soft fabrics that will move in the wind or even details like feathers, pleats and ruching.

- Slits are friends. It doesn't have to be a big one but it will make moving around a lot easier.

If you happen to stumble upon this blog within the next few months then you are looking at a really good time! If you haven't noticed already, a lot of wedding dress designer campaigns for the new season seem to be very "beach" themed. Perfect for some inspo!

Piece 33 - L'Eto Bridal

When I think "beach wedding" this is exactly what I and probably a lot of people envision. A beautiful, soft, flowy, luxurious wedding dress by the amazing L'Eto Bridal. Piece 33 is made from 100% silk chiffon - this means that it's going to look and feel almost liquid-like. The ruching and drapes create an incredibly soft and natural look and is perfect for a lot of body types. The deep V to the front and back add a touch of sexiness to the overall look. The fabric and cut of this gown make it super light-weight which perfect for warmer weather or anyone having to travel on a plane. L'Eto Bridal are only stocked in a handful of places but amazingly, they do offer an "at home" try on service!

RRP: I believe around the $2,500AUD mark.

Frey - Rue De Seine

A Knot Another Dress designer fav which you would know by now is Rue De Seine (Refer to "5 Of The Best Boho Wedding Dress Designers). Something that they do so well? Texture. This Frey gown has the most unreal texture perfect for any beach wedding! This one is a little bit more of a fun option due to the little peekaboo midriff section and the beautiful slit to the side. Whilst a little more on the flirty side of things, there are nods to the classic bride being the layered skirt and THAT TRAIN! The Freya gown is created from a chiffon-tulle which will move beautifully in the wind as well as being fairly lightweight. I love that this look can be even more daring by adding the optional sleeves!

RRP: $4,995AUD (Sleeves sold separately)

Arki - KYHA Studios

Do you want to shine like no tomorrow? Be a bit bold? Make a statement? Then THIS is the gown for you! There is something so so beautiful and eye catching about having ivory sparkles on an ivory gown in the natural light. Arki by Kyha is the perfect mix of beachy and glam. A little bit more a sexy, showy number with the deep plunge neckline and the fit and flare silhouette. This option is completely impractical but it will be on the heavier side and you wont have as much movement as the other options - but boy will you look incredible in the photos?! Plus, a dress like this carries over seamlessly as a reception dress or even altered shorter for another event! KYHA aren't stocked anywhere but they do visit some areas every so often otherwise you can purchase online!

RRP: $8,995.00AUD

 Cybil - Bo and Luca

Another fav designer of mine is the wonderful Bo and Luca and it was so hard to narrow down just one dress I loved! But the Cybil is just so perfect for the beach and offers a little bit different detail than the others. The soft chiffon skirt drapes beautifully while the dainty hand-stitched bead work adds a touch of uniqueness and whimsy. The detailing drops down past the waist and over the hips - this aspect of the dress is super flattering on and perfect for anyone who may not have a super defined waist - the pattern does all the work for you! She also features a cheeky side slit to add a little bit of sexiness to the overall look whilst the cute tie up at the back of the gown adds a little boho touch. This (and all of the other amazing pieces) can be brought online as well as a couple stores in Australia and around the world.

RRP: $2,980.00AUD

Kassia - Zolotas Australia

This one is dedicated to my vintage and boho brides! Imagine a beautiful white sand beach, surrounding cliffs and you walking down the aisle to your love in this Kassia gown! A visually heavier gown than the previous dresses but it's so well balanced by the peekaboo cutouts, the deep V and the flowy sleeves. The endless ruffles has got to be my favourite part of this gown! Not a traditional white but I think this colour goes so perfectly in a beach setting. Surely after listing all the amazing things about this gown it couldn't get better right? Wrong! These gowns are also all handmade in Greece. The Mumma Mia fantasy lives on!! The only downside is that they are only stocked in a very limited amount of places - they do also offer Hire on a selected amount of gowns.

BRT014 - Daalarna

If there is one thing I know for sure it's that lace and beaches just go so well with each other. And you know who does the most beautiful, nature-y lace? Daalarna of course! If you haven't heard of them before they are a designer hailing from Budapest that specialise in feminine elegance. This particular design from the Breathe Collection showcases just that. A soft and romantic skirt that will be sure to float as you walk down the aisle - but the real statement would have to be that back! Such an incredible exposed back made soft by the dainty, feminine lace that borders it. I love that with such an open back that it's offset by the ultra elegant high neck - business in the front, party in the back some will say! This plus the entire Breathe Collection just screams Beach Wedding and are stocked all around the world so be sure to check them out!

Dasha - Newhite

Dasha had me at the pearl straps - that's all I have to say. But if I did have more to say it would be that this gown is a perfect mix of classic wedding dress meets modern meets whimsical meets understated. Dasha features a strapless bodice and boning built into the gown. The organza overlay of this full, A-line skirt is light and airy with a back bow accent, allowing a glimpse of the form fitting crepe dress below. A dress that doesn't look like it could move about in the wind and as you moved but does just that! And obviously the pearls are more than perfect for the beach! Thin straps can be a bit painful for my bigger boobied brides but with enough alterations and support in the bodice - they shouldn't be too bothersome!

So, there you have it! Picking out your beach wedding dress should be as breezy and fun as the ocean breeze itself. Whether you're leaning towards a flowy boho vibe, something sleek and simple, or a gown with intricate lace details, the key is finding a dress that makes you feel like the radiant beach goddess you are. Comfort is key for dancing in the sand and soaking up the sunshine with your loved ones. So, kick off your shoes, embrace the laid-back vibes, and let your dress be the perfect blend of style and ease for your dreamy seaside celebration. Cheers to love, laughter, and happily ever after on the beach!
